Head of Sales South

If Only is a multi-award-winning, luxury tour operator that focuses on 5 Star resorts and some unique handpicked properties around the world. We create bespoke holidays and cruises in Arabia, the Indian Ocean, USA, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Australasia, Far East, India and Sri Lanka. Based in Glasgow’s city centre, we specialise in providing travel agents with packaged holidays, from indulgent beach getaways to complex multi-destination itineraries. Established in 2001, If Only has grown from a ‘one-man band’ to a multi-award-winning organisation with over 65 staff based in our modern city offices. If Only are now looking to appoint an experienced, driven, creative and sales-focused Head of Sales – South.

The Head of Sales South will work for hand in hand with the Head of Sales North and will be responsible for supporting our Sales Director in implementing our trade strategy with our Consortia, National Accounts and Agent Partners. This is a leadership role focusing on maximizing sales, increasing trade support, improving profitability and securing new business. You will be a strong negotiator who is commercially focused with a good understanding of the B2B Market in the UK and relationships established with a number of key retailers within their managed territory. The candidate must have previous experience within a Long-Haul travel business, ideally with a luxury focus. Salary dependant on experience

Areas of responsibility & brief description:

• Support and have input into the delivery of our UK trade strategy

• Deliver strategies to help the business increase average booking values and margins

• Nurture and develop the relationships at a senior level with National Accounts and Key Agents

• Negotiate commercial contract terms with all our National Accounts including setting targets in line with those of If Only

• Implement a strategy for the year ensuring that all managed accounts deliver on targets set, marketing our brand effectively, and maximise all opportunities presented to them

• Provide creative ideas and strategies on how to grow our trade engagement and overall sales

• Evaluate our partner's sales performance and where necessary implement action plans to drive further sales or address poor performance

• Host quarterly reviews with our National Accounts

• Identify and deliver new business opportunities to support If Only’s ambitious growth plans

• Be target driven, working to individual sales targets as well as team targets

• Support in monitoring and work within trade sales budgets

• Host weekly calls with all National Accounts and feedback to the Director of Sales

• Evaluate competitor activity including pricing, commercials, incentives and marketing, feeding back to the Director of Sales on a weekly basis

• Build and deliver training plans for our trade partners focusing on our core destinations

• Represent in their absence the Sales Director at senior executive and retailer meetings

• Liaise with colleagues, attend meetings and contribute to policy-making as required

• Working with the marketing team to ensure our offers are appropriately communicated to all trade partners

Minimum requirements:

• Minimum 4 years experience in a similar senior role required

• Management/Leadership/Motivation Skills required

• Commercially Aware

• Strong negotiating skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) with the ability to influence upwards and with peers and other stakeholders

• Numerate and analytical with a thorough understanding of using relevant management information and IT applications
