The Cook Islands
Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands
The Cook Islands are made up of 15 tiny islands and atolls scattered across two million square kilometres of the South Pacific Ocean.
Highlights
With so much on offer, it’s easy to do a little or a lot in The Cook Islands.
Take a hike
Rarotonga’s famous Cross-Island Track is best experienced as part of an organised group. Although challenging in parts, the views and the scenery make it well worth the effort.
Explore the lagoons
Aitutaki boasts one of the world’s largest coral lagoons, inhabited by huge clams and shoals of brightly coloured tropical fish. Join a boat trip and spend the day swimming, snorkelling and exploring local islands.
Praise be
Faithful and non believers alike are made welcome at Sunday services throughout the islands. Acappella singing, a great community spirit and morning tea afterwards all provide a marvellous opportunity to interact with the locals.
